Dark Under-Eye Circles Making You Look Tired? Fillers Can Help

If you’re bothered by the appearance of dark circles under your eyes, you’re not alone. This common condition leads many people to seek out ways to erase the evidence, so they can feel more comfortable and confident about what they see in the mirror. While lifestyle changes may help minimize these circles to a degree, many people are naturally prone to them. In either case, dermal fillers — commonly known simply as fillers — can help.

The skilled aesthetics team at Pure Touch Skin Center in Glendale and Sherman Oaks, California, ranks among the top 2% of injectable providers across the nation. Well versed in this effective treatment, we appreciate every chance to help you look your best.

Why dark under-eye circles happen

If you struggle with dark circles under your eyes, you’ve probably noticed that they crop up or appear more severely when you’re lacking Z’s. Getting too little sleep causes your blood vessels to dilate, potentially increasing blood flow. And since the skin below your eyes is especially delicate, the added blood volume is easier to see. Sleep deficits can also lead to eye puffiness if your lower lids retain fluids.

How fillers can help

Even with the best of lifestyle habits, such as eating well and sleeping sufficiently most nights, dark under-eye circles are bound to happen for many people. That’s where fillers come in. Our team at Pure Touch Skin Center provides Juvéderm® and Restylane® fillers as a safe, nonsurgical method of improving the appearance of the tissue under your eyes for a smoother, more supple look. By literally filling in sagging or concave areas, they allow you to walk away looking immediately more youthful and rested. While each person is unique, you can expect these results to last up to 12-18 months.

Filler treatment basics

Filler treatment for under-eye circles takes only about 30 minutes in our office. You can even have treatment over your lunch break and get right back to your usual daily activities, given that no recovery time is required. Any bruising or swelling tends to be quite mild and temporary. If you do notice either issue, an ice pack can help. The needles used to inject the fillers are tiny, too, and beforehand, you’ll receive a topical numbing agent for added comfort. Many fillers also contain a numbing agent, so pain is generally not an issue.
